Adults and children (ages 6-12) are invited to hear local author, Mary A. Weber, speak about her book, The Forest Gate . The Forest Gate is a book designed to inspire the imaginations of children. It is written for children 8-12, but parents are encouraged to read it to their younger children in the hopes of planting the seed of how to be happy and successful when accomplishing goals. The themes throughout are to promote character building life lessons in a loving way. Former elementary school teacher and nurse, Mary originally wrote the story 20 years ago for new children in her family. Since then, she has rewritten it, had it illustrated and published. The beautiful illustrations of animal families and majestic birds help promote ideals such as sharing, courtesy, compassion, respect, tolerance, and service to others. Mary will read excerpts from her book and will offer autographed books for sale. Space is limited. Entry tickets will be available at the Service Desk starting at 2pm on December 9. Doors open at 2:45pm Listed from Pima County Public Library's public calendar. Details and registration: https://pima.bibliocommons.com/events/6ae12047377296003a4f1786
